A prototype of Yun-10 was parked on the lawn of the Shangfei Pudong assembly base. In 2007, the central government made a strategic decision: independently develop large aircraft!
At the beginning of the C919 project, Premier Li Keqiang set a basic principle for domestic large aircraft - independent design, system integration, global procurement, and gradually domestic production. Yuan Wenfeng, director of the C919 project office, said that the C919 has always adhered to the technical route of “independent research, international cooperation, and international standards”, and has overcome more than 100 core technologies including the integrated design of aircraft engines and the control laws of fly-by-wire control systems. technology.

15% of the C919 fuselage uses resin-grade carbon fiber material, which is the first large-scale use of this material for civilian large passenger aircraft, and the use rate of this material in traditional large passenger aircraft is only about 1%. This material is used in aircraft manufacturing, and the required docking accuracy is three to four orders of magnitude higher than the rocket. In the manufacturing process of C919, for the first time in China, the automatic docking of large parts was realized. Through the laser positioning and tracking method, the docking accuracy can be two orders of magnitude higher than in the past.
Light and shadow overlap, Chinese manufacturing will fly farther

However, it is undeniable that the road to localization of key core components of large aircraft is difficult. The "heart" of a large aircraft - the manufacture of the engine and even mass production is difficult to achieve in the short term. In the first flight, the engine LEAP-X equipped with the C919 was developed by CFM International. There are 20-30 companies that can do aircraft in the world, but only 3-5 can do engines. In 2010, China has listed aviation engines as major national science and technology projects. In the field of aviation engines, China has invested at least 10 billion yuan every year.
The global large-scale civil aircraft industry has great potential. It is estimated that over the next 20 years, 35,000 large-scale civil aircraft will be delivered globally, with a minimum valuation of US$5 trillion. China will need about 6,000 new passenger and cargo aircraft, valued at US$945 billion, accounting for the total demand for new aircraft in the same period in the world. 18%.
The ultimate goal of the C919 is to enter the international market as soon as possible, enjoy the dividends brought about by the rapid development of civil air transport, and of course face the brutal competition with Boeing and Airbus. Experts predict that by 2035, large aircraft will form a complete product chain.
